To back up a folder, right click it and select ‘Livedrive > Backup with Livedrive Backup’. In the following example, the folder ‘My Videos’ is being backed up.

You can check which folders are being backed up and remove them by right clicking the Livedrive icon in the taskbar and then clicking on Manage Backups. The green tick next to ‘Videos’ shows that the folder is being backed up.

In the above example we can see that the videos folder is being backed up, by clicking on the tick box it is possible to select and deselect which folders are to be backed up.
You can access the files that Livedrive has backed up by right clicking on the Livedrive icon and heading to the Web Portal, then going to ‘Backup’. As shown below, all the computers you have installed Livedrive on will appear, double-click on them to view files and folders that have been uploaded. From the Web Portal, you can download files or open documents/music/videos/images online.

If you have recently created or saved a file, you may notice that it hasn’t been backed up. By default, Livedrive backs up every hour however it is possible to change this. Go to Manage Backups (by right clicking the Livedrive icon) and select the Settings tab, by choosing Realtime Backup, files are backed up individually every time they are saved (note that it may take up to 5 minutes for a recently backed up file to appear in the web portal).

When you delete a backed up file on your computer, Livedrive will keep a copy of the file for 30 days. To retrieve a deleted file, first make sure you have adjusted your view options to show deleted files.

Once you have done this, your files should be displayed and you are then able to open them and download a copy.
When Livedrive uploads a modified file, it stores a copy of the 30 most recent amendments. In the example below showing a word document, we can see that 2 versions have been uploaded, the first and current editions. There is a link to download the current version on the right hand side, and a link for the original version in the table at the bottom.
